  • Entry: which route applies to you, passport validity and the arrival card
  • 2027 public holidays, and the sights around Tiananmen that need booking
  • Phone and internet: eSIM, local SIM or roaming, and the apps to install
  • Paying: Alipay, WeChat Pay, which cards work, and a little cash
  • Where to stay in Beijing, and getting from the airport to your hotel
  • A packing list, health and safety, and the numbers to save
  • Boxes for your own situation: flying within a week, travelling with older relatives or children, eating halal or vegetarian
